WELCOME
The central Districts 4x4 club was set up in the early 2000 by like-minded people who enjoyed the outdoors and see remote parts of our beautiful country, NEW ZEALAND, at the same time taking care not to damage it. The idea is to enjoy each other’s company, have a laugh and a giggle challenge your own ability learn from your mistakes while at the same time learn more about your vehicle and from others. If you want to bitch and carry-on, or carry a grudge then perhaps you are not for this club. We have some very knowledgeable people and great characters from many different walks of life from builders, electricians, engineers, tele-communications, farmers mechanics, education, plumbers and many more. All in all a great bunch of girls and boys.
Over the years the club has put on 4x4 shows, winch challengers (Costa Plenty Club – which amalgamated with us), Trips to the South Island, tag a long tour in support of schools, camp trips, fishing trips to name a few.
We are involved with Civil Defence - emergency services Manawatu, assist NZ police search and rescue, and our club is registered as members of the NZFWDA and represent our club at the NZFWDA ZONE meeting held every 3 months. We also do marshalling and vehicle recovery for the Palmerston North Off Roading Club.
The club likes to hold at least two trips a month
The Club meets every third Wednesday of the month at the St Johns Hall Bowen St Feilding at 7.30pm. Visitors and/or prospective members are welcome (be prepared for a bit of banter).
- Prospective members are required to attend three trips and three meetings, although at the club members agreeance these conditions can be reduced before being voted in as a full member. All vehicle must be registered and warranted. If you think you would like to become a member (you don’t necessarily need a vehicle although it would be preferred) the rules and regulations would be supplied in more detail.
